Fuppet: Chris the Chemist

My fuppet's name is Chris the Chemist. He has brown buffy hair, bright yellow and blue eyes and a yellow nose. He has a purple mouth and a tongue. He has white rough skin. Chris the Chemist has a purple, white and black tie with sparkly jewels on it. His best friends are Rudolf the orange nosed fuppet, Sparko, Black jellybean and T.J. Chris is silly because he like making up funny jokes. He’s cheerful and down-right funny. Chris’s favourite food is pizza. He has 8 cars and three 3D TV’s.

Venetian Mask: Manaia

We made Venetian masks.  My favourite part was dry brushing.  I made my mask blue because my favourite colour is blue.  I had a lot of fun!

Jellybean Simile: Metal

We went to the Groynes and it was super fun! Our favourite things were dressing up like garbage and catching the bugs. Our favourite bug’s were the water boatmen and midge larvae. The water boatman has six legs and hides two of them underneath its front. The midge larvae is just like a little, little red worm. To men called Ben and Bill showed us how the Groynes got its name. It's called the Groynes because there are BIG, BIG rocks shaped like cylinders, called Groynes, that’s where it gets it’s name.

Transform!

There were many giggles in the classroom this afternoon.  Our theme for 2012 is 'Transform.'  What a great way to start by taking this funny photos.  Who can you see?

Movie Making: Creating the Wild Poaka

I did the filming and drew the poaka. I also helped with the storyboard. It took awhile to make, but it was fun. I also drew the backgrounds.

Manaia and Neco Linsey Pollak

Today we went to see a show called Linsey Pollak, Passing Wind. It was awesome because there were lots of instruments. Neco’s favourite was the bagpipes and mine was Mr Curly. He had a thing called kaosmatic.  The kaosmatic was a touch pad DJ.  He recorde Thomas' voice and put other sounds over it.  Linsey made a fiute with a carrot.

Movie Making: Children making Safer Journeys

I did the videoing and I was the voice of the Alien.  It was very hard to record the sound with the noise of diggers outside the classroom.  It was so much fun making the movie!

Making Ancient Cartouches

We made cartouches. We made them out of clay. First we got a chunk of clay. Then we had to make it thick.  When that was done we got a paperclip and did our hieroglyphics in the clay.  We waited for awhile  and when that was ready we painted it white.  Then after phonics we got back and painted it gold or copper.  Then we did some dry brushing.  It did not matter if it broke because Elizabeth would fix it with her glue gun.  When the gold and copper paint was dried we got the coloured paint and coloured in the hieroglyphics.  Then we put black on the lines of the hieroglyphics.

My Treasure: Pounamu

I have a greenstone, Pounamu.  It come from the West Cost, in New Zealand, from the Arahura river.  My Dad's friend George made it for me.  It is special to me because it was carved especially for me and it is a Manaia symbol.  I keep it on my wall in my room.  I LOVE! it.

The Clown that came to school

Today a clown called Squirt came to school. He was really funny because he strapped a fake mouth on Tania and she sounded like a man. She danced to music from the iPod.  feet were really big and colourful. Squirt was funny with rabbits. He made them disappear and made three of them appear out of McKenzie's hand. I was at keyboard lessons when it started. We didn't know he was coming. It was the funniest day of my life. Paul thanked them for coming to Freeville school for funniness. Dru

I liked the clown because it was funny for the children. I liked the end of it because it was really funny. Jacob L

The funniest part was when Squirt was going to pull an adorable rabbit out of a hat, but it turned out to be an ugly monster rabbit. Beth

Digital Pet Day: Turltes, Mexican Walking fish and my Dog

My dog Patch is white with brown spots and patches.  We called him Patch because he has a big patch on his back.  Patch eats dog biscuits and any leftovers from dinner.  He loves running on fields, going on walks and sleeping on my bed.  Patch has one friend called Macy.  They like to play together.  He needs water and food.  Patch can do hand-shakes and he is not that smart.  He is scared of flies.  Patch is 7 years old.

In the earthquake one of my turtles, Trevor was inside (walking around).  Yoda was in the tank.  We bought them off a friend about 2 years ago.  Trevor hides outside and buries himself and doesn't like noise.  Yoda likes exploring.

I had a Mexican walking fish who died after the earthquake, he was about 15 years old.  I now have two new Axolotls.  They are called Shaky and Quaky.

Megamog: Roman Warrior Octavian

My Megamog is a Roman warrior.  He has a sword and a shield.  Octavian likes pizza parties and fighting. He has a metal helmet and a chained cape.  He is fat with green glowing eyes.  Octavian wears sandals and sharp teeth.
