Venetian Mask: Tinika

I really liked putting the edging around my mask.

Our Venetian Mask Designs...

In the past few weeks we have been designing our venetian masks.  We are making these for the cultural festival.  They are beautiful so far. We wish they were already made!

Playing with Data!

Today we learnt about data. We noticed that there were more girls that were right handed, with brown eyes.  We had to keep on changing the data around because we wanted to see what was different about it.  We had to cut the data squares out and then we had to put them in order. We walked around to look at each others data.

Looking at our data squares...

Data stacked in piles, is this easy to read?
Data sorted on eye colour...
Multivariate data...sorted on eye colour, girl/boy, left handed/right handed.

On Friday we went to the Groynes. We found some interesting creatures in the water. We caught them from the river. We saw some geese on the grass. We also saw some pukeko and lots of ducks. We tried to catch some insects, but some people did not catch any insects. They kept trying. We had activities to do and they where fun activities. We loved the Groynes. We found out how the Groynes got its name. We found out if we put rubbish on the ground or in the water you can kill the insects and bugs.

Transform!

There were many giggles in the classroom this afternoon.  Our theme for 2012 is 'Transform.'  What a great way to start by taking this funny photos.  Who can you see?
