The Fuppets: Movie
DRU’S STORY: I did lots of drawing when it came to doing the backdrops. I did one or two backdrops, they were the bathroom scene with Thomas and I helped on the yard scene. It was really fun and hard work!
JACKSON’S STORY: One day our class had an idea to make puppets and make a movie about Head lice with puppets. I was really excited about making a movie and even making puppets. I helped on coloring in the outside school scene, did some filming and sharpened all the colouring pencils. It was hard and fun! When our class finished the movie we watched it and I was very proud of myself. I was proud of the class because it took a long time to make.

Fuppet: Sparko
My fuppet's name is Sparko because he is really good at sport and he is also very energetic. He has black hair (straight), a red mouth, a black tongue, a black nose, dark grey fur, white teeth and his nickname is: THE SPEED.
He’s 9years of age. Sparko loves playing rugby, video games, noodle tag and LEGO. His friends are: Manaia, Thomas, Jackson, Elliot, Jacob, Nicky, Ryan, my Mum, Dad, my dog Hook, Santa and me. Sparko is brave, happy, polite, fast and smart. He always does what he’s told. He dislikes being lonely. He lives at my house.

Venetian Mask: Dru
I liked the patterns and the colours (the colours were green and gold, on my mask. The colors worked really awesome together and they didn’t clash, and the patterns were in the right place.
I liked putting the feathers on and painting the interesting features on my mask. It was pretty hard. I learned how to push the feathers nicely into place and giving them a trim with the scissors. I felt really proud when I went to the cultured festival to do my Kapahaka when I saw it because it looked very cool.

A trip to the groynes
Today we went to the Groynes to learn about the water insects and what ducks need to be healthy. Lucas, Kayd and I went with my mum. We had to fish the water insects out of the water with a sieve and a stick. Then we put them in a bucket and used the magnifying glass to see them.
After that we used a spoon to pick them up and put them into a plastic container divided into six, so they were with their own species. We caught heaps of water boatmen and we even caught a water worm!
We put the water insects in a water box otherwise they would die.

Transform!
There were many giggles in the classroom this afternoon. Our theme for 2012 is 'Transform.' What a great way to start by taking this funny photos. Who can you see?
Movie Making: We Created Everything
We made our second movie this year and it was called Peter and the Wild Poaka. We did the backdrops, designed the puppets, did the filming, voices, moved the puppets and made the storyboard. My favourite part of the movie was filming because I learnt how to move the camera around. The characters were Peter, Grandfather, Poaka, DOC Rangers, Pukeko, cat and fantail. When we finished the movie it was great to watch.

The Linsey Pollak Show
Yesterday at 1:00pm we went to the hall to watch a show, it was called Passing Wind. There was
a man called Linsey Pollak who taught us how to make music from tubes, hoses and even
a chair and a carrot. He drilled holes into them to make it sound like a flute. He used a mini piano set and when Linsey touched these black panels, it sounded like an earthquake or lava eruption. He used tubes to make a bagpipe noise even when he was not blowing on it. Click here to see Linsey Play a bike seat.

Snowy
This is my friend Snowy, my sister Shyla and I made him. We made a small version of Snowy and when we went back inside we had another idea. We went back outside to make him bigger than he was. He had a coat, (with lemons going down), long arms and a plant pot for a hat.
We had lots of snowball fights and I got one down Mum's coat. Then Mum started throwing snowballs up in the air for my dog Hook to catch. Mum and Shyla went inside. They left Dad and I to have a big snowball fight. I won, so Dad went inside and I paraded around the yard for a few seconds.

Footbag Fun!
Yesterday a man called Phil came over to our school. He is really good at Foot bag (which is also known as Hacky Sack). Phil is the champion of two competitions is New Zealand and Australia. He was also came 4th in the World Championships.
When we school started we all went over to the learning studio and Phil was there. He did his show with the Footbag. A couple of hours later Phil came to our class to teach us some tricks. We all got a ball each then he blew his whistle and that told us to hold the Footbag up in the air. Then he taught us some tricks. First he taught us about the knee-bump, then he taught us the toe-kick.

Movie Making: Children making Safer Journeys
Hi guys, it's Thomas here. This is how we made our Road Safety movie. It's on YouTube. OK! Lets get started....first we had to make and draw people for the movie, it was cool. I did the Safety Nina and a skateboarder. I helped to make the background too. I had so much fun. Then we had to video it. Then the class had to be quiet when we recorded our voice. That's it! Bye from Thomas

House Designers
Today for maths we all had to draw a house with rulers, in cm. We had to do the length and the height of the big rectangle for the house, the windows, doors and the roof. I did my roof like it was a real kind of roof and it was the kind of roof that goes on big houses. After that we got to do our own one, but I kinda did it the same because I did the same big flowers. The colours were red, brown, light brown and green. I drew a man with a key near the door knob.
My Treasures from the Past
My treasurers are a signature softball, my pounamu, a vintage paper doll toy, a New Zealand softball playing shirt and a 1998 Women's World Series programme booklet.

My Grandmother gave these to my Mum
My pounamu is a treasure because my Grandad doesn't live here, he lives in Masterton. My Grandad's friend made it for me - his name was Patrick.
