Fuppet: Sky-Monkey
My Fuppet’s name is Sky-Monkey. He is 7 years old. He has eye’s like the deep blue sea. His hair is spiky, pink like candy floss. His purple nose is so soft it’s like touching baby bird feathers. Sky-Monkey’s mouth is as huge as a pink bicycle helmet. His tongue is as purple as a heart shaped grape. Sky-Monkey's skin is like looking at the clouds in the sky. The shape of his head is like a rugby ball.
Venetian Mask: Tiana
First Elizabeth handed us our masks and told us to practise our patterns. After that Elizabeth told us to rip up bits of paper and stick them on our mask with PVA glue.
It took two days to glue, ripped paper to my mask. We then had to glue gun our patterns on our mask and Elizabeth helped us.
I then painted my mask white. Once I was finished Elizabeth told me to do it three more times. The next day we painted colours on our masks. I painted my patterns silver, then I had to do that three more times. Then I painted the rest of my mask (which was blue). After another three layers we had to put stardust over the parts that we wanted. Elizabeth helped us stick on our embellishments, mine were feathers. Our finished masks went to the Cultural Festival.

Hunting in the Water...
On Friday our class went to the Groynes. It is named after concrete and rocks mixed together. First we had to fish for little bugs. Then we had to drop them in this big container with water in it. We had to work out what sort of creatures they were. After that we had morning tea. Then we had a another activity.
There were three children that were dressed as ducks and the rest of us were water boatmen insects. The next activity there was a fake river and a few people were rubbish floating in the river. The rest of us were water boatmen or back swimmers. The rubbish had to stop us by tagging us. When we had gotten tagged we had to join the line and tag other people.
We learnt not to pollute waterways. Don't put rubbish in the water!

Zometool Fun!
On Tuesday we played with Zometool for maths. We made a hotel, it was the biggest in the class and everybody was crowding around us and wanting to help. ZOMETOOL IS THE BEST TOY EVER!
Transform!
There were many giggles in the classroom this afternoon. Our theme for 2012 is 'Transform.' What a great way to start by taking this funny photos. Who can you see?
Abstract ART
Christchurch Art Gallery, Te Puna O Waiwhetu Screen Printing Lesson:
Today we went to the relocatable east and we learnt about abstract art. First we did the screen printing. We wrote our name on the back of card and each group had to line up and wait for their turn. When it was your turn you had to screen print your paper. The lady put paint on the screen and you used the squeegee to go back and forth. You then opened the lid of the screen and took your piece of paper off the screen printer. After the screen printing we put dye on the paper and blew with the straw to move the paint around.

The Instrument Maker
We walked over to the hall and sat down. Linsey Pollak made instruments and they made very cool noises!
Movie Making: Children making Safer Journeys
I got to make a puppet and it was great! I made one of the backgrounds and my favourite part was dyeing the backgrounds. It was AWESOME!!
Making of our Egyptian Cats
These are some photos of how we made our cats. We finished them on Wednesday and it was fun! It took us a few weeks.
First you roll up paper. Tape the paper and put nice paper around it. Put plaster of paris over top and dye it with old brown dye. Make a clay head and paint the head with gold. Put sparkles on it and put it on display.
We enjoyed moulding the head shape.

My Treasures: The Hobbit, Blanket and Box
The Hobbit is special because my Mum treasures it. She is reading it to my brother and I. I really like it. My blanket was given to me by my Mum and Dad when I was born. My box was given to me by Pearl. It is special to me because she gave it to me at Christmas.
