Save the animals

When people have to move out of their house they have to move into a rental. But some rentals can't
have pets, so they dump them in the in the dumpster and they will soon die.

Measuring circles...

Today we went round the school measuring all sorts of things.  We were measuring the diameter of circles.  But we were using the wrong side of the tape measure, we were measuring in inches.  We had lots of fun running around the school.

The Amazing Place Ceremony...

On Thursday our Year 4's went to a ceremony. There were acrobats, a joker, Carrot the clown,  a girl on a no handle bike and cupcakes too!!! The ceremony was for the amazing playground that heaps of schools entered. Guess what we won.....first place our year group. We won eight hundred dollars.  Four hundred dollars for the the class.  So that's $100 each for Haley, Ruth, Oakley and Kiara. We got a photo with Prime Minister John Key and shook his hand. After the prizes we got lunch boxes with a bread roll, crackers, grapes, carrot sticks, a twisty thing with bacon and sushi. Then we hopped on the bus and went back to school.  We felt proud!

Our Amazing Playground - Our Year 4 entry is a finalist!

Haley, Ruth, Oakley and Kiara designed and created an animal themed playground....you can watch their presentation below.  Their entry was entered into The Amazing Place competition and they made it into the finals!  This is very exciting.  They will be going to the awards ceremony next Thursday to fine out if they got first or second place.

Our Amazing Animal Theme Playground...

This is our animal theme playground.  It took us a lot of work to get it right. Our playground is mostly made out of P\plasticine.  The rest of the playground is made out of cardboard and sticks.

Kiara was the project  manager  and she likes the hamburger stand and giraffe slide.
Oakley likes the hamburger stand and the animal train.
Haley likes the flying fox and the animal museum tree house.
Ruth likes the tunnel car park and the elephant sprinkler.

We thought a giraffe slide would be good to put in the playground on a hill.  Children can climb up the back and slide down the neck.  We had snake bars, were snakes hung down and you can climb on them.

Yummy Pikelets

On Tuesday we were going to camp. I went in my Mum's car. When we got there we put our bags in our bunk rooms. Then we got ready for our activities.  We did hobo stoves, team building and more.  My favourite activity was hobo stoves you got to make yummy pikelets.

The Variety Bash at Freeville School

On our court we had a Variety Bash and the whole school was there.  They were raising money for kids all over New Zealand.  It was their first time at Freeville School.  They gave us lots of gifts.  They were raised thirteen million dollars so far.  It was lots of fun!  We got stickers, lollies, bracelets, popcorn and corn tubes.
