A very large bauble in the Aotea Square...

A short movie showing Maisie receiving the award on behalf of Room 6. Maisie wrote her speech and she spoke confidently and clearly.

My dog Nella

My dog's name is Nella.  She is seven or eight years old.  My dog is a Neapolitan mastiff cross, but we don't know what she's crossed with.  My dog is black with big chops.  My dog lasts one minuet of sprinting then she collapses.  Nella is very funny.  One day at the beach she rolled in a dead fish.  My dog needs lots of love.  We got Nella from the SPCA.  One day the end of her ear was bitten off.  Nella   loves to play with a tennis balls, but she never picks it up she just runs it over.  I love my dog Nella.

Fuppet raro

My puppet's name is Raro.  She is 13 years old.  Her skin is as green as a lime.  She has wavy plats that are pink, orange, purple and a silky pink hat.  Her eyes are as white as snow with a purple eye cap.  She also has black and purple eye lashes, the purple is sparkly.  She has a round purple nose.  The inside of her mouth is light pink.  Raro has a love heart tongue that is light purple.

When Raro is sad she plays on the swing or eats to cheer herself up.  Her favorite food is noodles.  When she does drama she feels happy.  She is also happy when she is on the swing or in the pool.  She is shy on the stage, but when she's not she's is very lively.

Raro lives with my family and I.  She does everything with me.  She goes to my violin lessons and I take her to her saxophone lessons.  She helps me take my dog for a walk.  She loves playing board games.

Raro wants to travel the world.

Hunting for circles...

We went round the school looking for circles.  We found lots of circles. We found a lock we thought it was 5cm but it was 4cm.  We found some nails we thought they were 0.5cm but it was really 1cm.

Then we went to the clock face centre, beside the scooter ramps.  We thought it was 5cm, but it was 13cm.  We looked at the tyres and we thought that they were 50cm, but they were 57cm.

Then we found a concrete circle we thought it was 30cm, but it was 31cm. Then there was a metal screw we found we thought it 2cm and we were right!

Maisie's First Fun Camp!

At camp I made a bivvy with Tamzin. The bivvy in the first picture is the one we made.  In the second picture I am getting ready to shoot an arrow in archery.  I am waiting for my turn in rifle shooting in the last picture.  My favorite things at camp were the water hole, breakfast and the flying fox. I liked the herbivores and carnivores game. I loved camp!

Points of view using Augmented Reality...

Can you name the different points of view?

What do we think will be the future of this technology?

I think you will be able to try on the shoe and see if it looks good.  Campbell

Watching a movie trailer.   Jacob

You could go shopping online, print out the item of clothing you like, and see if it looks good on you!  I think there will be a market for augmented t-shirts. Imagine if you could take a picture from a realtor magazine, view the image...then walk through the house.  No more need for open homes!  Elizabeth

I think they will be on all book covers.  There could be pictures on food you could scan.  Tasman

I think you'll be able to keep it 3D and teleport it to different places.  Maisie

I think you could put this in a shop, and you would see the 3D food things popping out.  Zander

Scan the picture, and the food comes up.  You can then taste it and see if you would want to buy it!  Nathan

Exploring Geometric Shapes...Day One

Day One - Task to make a 3D shape using a net.  What is a net?  How do you make a 3D shape that looks like the shape it is meant too?

Caitlyn, Tasman and Maisie went and thought of some tips you could use when making 3D shapes.

Do you know what this shape is?

Akaroa and Austraila...

In the holidays I went to Akaroa  and Australia. I held a snake in Australia   Its scales were smooth.  I was a bit scared at the start, but not in the end.

In Akaroa I went fishing and played mini golf.  We also went looking for lizards, but we only found rock pools.  My favourite thing to do was playing on the rope swing.
