  2. WOW. My son Maynard is in Room 6 - his dad came to get him as I work in the CBD I had heard stories about what it was like at the school, but it is much worse than I could have imagined. Big ups to all the teachers on the day - you guys never cease to amaze me. Kia Kaha Freeville xo

  3. Hi Ella I didn't realise how bad this block was until I looked at the footage later. I hope your house is stood up to the quake and I'm glad you're all ok.

Thanks for your comment Luella - the children did well to remain calm while they waited to be picked up.

  4. Hi there, I was a founder day pupil at Freeville School, I now live in the UK and keep looking for news of my old hometown, all my family still live in CHCH and thankfully they are all OK. Thanks for you video I am so pleased that you all got out safely. I remember emergency drills when I was at the school and we thought Christchurch did not get earthquakes, how wrong we were. I hope you can get it all up and running again, although I suppost the children don't mind too much having time off school. I will be visiting Christchurch in Sept of this year and will come and have a look at the place that holds so many memories for me.
Kind regards Betty Curran (nee Betty Andrews)

  5. Hello Betty
Thanks for leaving a comment on our class blog - I will share this with the children. We are hoping to open Freeville School on the 21st March, fingers crossed as we still have no sewage system or water. Parts of our school are getting demolished (ie Room 8), and hopefully by the time you come to visit we'll have a new classroom block. Elizabeth
